Our Fortunate Great White Orb of Reflecting Heat Shines Down on Portland
I created a playlist called (in full) “Our Fortunate Great White Orb of Reflecting Heat Shines Down on Portland”. It’s a list of songs I’ve been listening to in the sun and warmth that has recently struck Portland. We, the citizens of the city, have all been stricken by it. Each of these songs I consider perfect, in their own way. Here is a list of the songs on the list:
1) The Payback by James Brown (I strutted in tempo to this song in my neighborhood)
2) Here He Comes by Brian Eno
3) There Stands The Glass by Webb Pierce
4) Sorrow Tears and Blood by Fela Kuti (amazing man, if not a little bit kooky, I’ll elaborate in a later post)
5) Adam & Steve by Megapuss
6) Tezeta (Nostalgia) by Mulatu Astatke
7) If I Needed You by Townes Van Zandt
